Welcome aboard a BRABUS Business!

Over the last couple of years, the functional utility of vehicles has changed. Cars, especially in the high-class segment, have become more than a means of transportation or a status symbol. The luxury car of today serves various purposes - from the extended office or the high-tech multimedia lounge to a mobile place of retreat.

BRABUS was the first company in the world to react to this trend already back in 2010 by developing an in-car multimedia system based on Apple components such as the iPad. The system has been further improved each time new Apple computer variants hit the market and offers comfortable and connected traveling for sophisticated customers around the globe.

The development of BRABUS' custom solutions continues at the same rapid pace as computer technology itself. Yet another reason why BRABUS interior design enjoys an excellent reputation around the world.

The groundbreaking BRABUS Business concepts allow the integration of a wide variety of devices into the on-board network, regardless of what current operating system the customers are using.

Whether in the G-, GL-, GLS-, S-Class and Maybach or in a spacious V-Class or Sprinter van: a vehicle with BRABUS Business equipment offers infotainment in its purest form for the people seated in the rear, letting them communicate with the entire world via a high-speed internet connection. Furthermore, all functions of the BRABUS Business system and the COMAND on-board information system can be controlled from a mini tablet computer.

It is irrelevant whether a passenger wants to use an Apple iPad, an Android cell phone or a Windows notebook while on board as the BRABUS Business solutions incorporates any of these devices and allows everyone on board to work in a relaxed atmosphere or enjoy exciting entertainment as they please. Regardless of where they are seated, passengers have access to mobile high-speed Internet via LTE 4G WLAN router with their personal device.

They can also access entertainment content such as movies, music or photos from the hard drive, Blu-ray player or PlayStation 4 game console or Apple TV.

Additionally, multimedia content from their personal device can be mirrored on the integrated screens via Miracast and Airplay.

In sedans and SUVs, a power-retractable screen up to 16.5-inch in the headliner with an aspect ratio of 16:9 serves as the central large monitor for the iPad mini and the other devices of the multimedia equipment. A significantly larger screen can be integrated into the rear compartment of the V-Class and the Sprinter.

Live high-definition TV is supported by an integrated DVB-T system for local TV, the Business van solutions for V-Class and Sprinter can be equipped with satellite TV to get access to international TV in the cars multimedia systems.

At BRABUS, we have been designing individual interiors for exclusive automobiles for decades. Since the foundation in 1977, the design and engineering of individual transportation interiors has always been an important pillar of our business right along with the engineering of high-performance supercars. What started as the cautious refinement of simple interior elements like shift knobs or seat cushions in the 1970's, soon became a variety of almost endless individualization options in the automobiles. Today all of our customers expect cutting-edge style and a perfect technical integration - the defining elements of our brand promise. From over 3500 leather colours to different stitching patterns, to the integration of innovative electronic features inside the vehicles - we have done it an endless number of times.

Seamingly Endless Individualization Possibilities

Configuring a personalized car offers many possibilities. The most colourful of them – literally – is the interior design. Choosing only the best available materials such as the finest Mastik leather, high-quality Alcantara and the best threads is merely the first step. Just as important is the attention to detail that gives a BRABUS leather interior the finishing touch. Are you looking for a special leather color? From classic to extravagant - the BRABUS selection covers a variety of colours and allows even special requests such as a leather color perfectly matching the partner's lipstick.

The History of BRABUS Business

Mobile Office Intergration for more than 3 decades

In 1982, the first Mercedes-Benz vehicles were equipped with a TV for the backseat passengers by BRABUS.

A few years later, the first fax-machines were integrated into the cars interior and bigger, thinner screens moved into the BRABUS Business cars.

From simple TV integrations to complete Multimedia-Systems; BRABUS always sets a benchmark in its business solutions.

From High-End Materials to State-of-the-Art Multimedia

Upgrading the cockpit of a car with exclusive special-grain wood inlays or mirror-polished black piano lacquer? Interior elements resembling the yachting design of classic motorboats? Or sporty aluminium components and carbon fiber elements for the cockpit in any colour imaginable? Each interior style creates a completely different feel of the car and can be implemented by the BRABUS team in Bottrop.
Of course, when it comes to interior design, visual appeal is not the only thing. Over the last years, BRABUS developed multimedia equipment for cars, transforming any vehicle into a mobile office or movie theater on wheels.

The 1970's

Every Journey Begins with a Single Step

From a passion for fast and exclusive cars to a global player with more than 100 outlets around the globe: when Bodo Buschmann founded BRABUS in 1977, he would have never dreamed that over the course of the following four decades BRABUS would grow to this extend.
The company built up steam immediately: soon it had become more than just a meeting point for Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts and individualists who took their vehicles to Bottrop, Germany to have them customized. Cars sporting the BRABUS Logo stood out from the crowd as unique and well-engineered pieces of German craftsmanship.

The 1980's

Boom Of Individualization

In 1984 Bodo Buschmann was able to land his first big contract, almost unimaginable for its scale in his industry at that time: car rental specialist Erich Sixt agreed to upgrade his rental fleet with 200 Mercedes-Benz 190E with BRABUS performance parts. These eye catchers not only helped SIXT to differentiate itself from it competitors. Many of those who rented one of the highly sought-after sedans for a day or two subsequently became loyal BRABUS customers.

The business grew quickly and soon required more space, leading to a relocation of the company into newly build facilities two years later.

The 1990's

BRABUS High-Performance Engines

In the 1990's, BRABUS not only impressed with cars like the Mercedes 190 E powered by a V8 engine, but also began the development of the world's most expensive program of high-performance engines for Mercedes-Benz automobiles. In 1992, BRABUS presented the 6.9 high-capacity engine for the V12 of the Mercedes 600 models. With a rated power output of 509 hp (503 bhp) / 375 kW it unlocked a new performance dimension.

The BRABUS E V12 gained entry into the Guiness Book of World Records in 1996 powered by a 7.3 liter (445 cu.in.) naturally aspirated engine that produced 582 hp (574 bhp) / 428 kW for a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph).

The 2000's

BRABUS World-Record Engines

The second version of the E V12 reached 350.2 km/h (217.6 mph).
It was only logical that the first BRABUS Rocket, the world's fastest four-door coupe with a top-speed of 365.7 km/ (227.2 mph), would be followed by an even faster BRABUS 800 E V12, breaking the previous record with an unbelievable 370 km/h (230 mph). The BRABUS GLK V12 added yet another highlight by setting a speed record for street-legal SUVs of 322.3 km/h (200.3 mph).

The 2010's

Even more powerful BRABUS Engines

Today, more than two decades later the BRABUS 900 V12 Biturbo engine, available for all current Mercedes-Benz V12 600 and 65 models represents the benchmark for Mercedes engine tuning. The BRABUS Rocket 900 with a peak power output of 662 kW / 900 hp (887 bhp) and a peak torque of 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) (in the car this figure limited electronically to 1,200 Nm (884 lb-ft)) reaches a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph) (electronically limited).

The BRABUS 850 has a peak power output of 625 kW / 850 HP (838 bhp) and a peak torque of 1,450 Nm (1,069 lb-ft). The peak torque is electronically limited in the car to 1,150 Nm (848 lb-ft) and the top speed is limited electronically to 350 km/h (217 mph).

Over time, the company expanded into numerous other business fields and became the BRABUS GROUP. In 2002, BRABUS celebrated its 25th anniversary and, in a joint venture with Daimler AG, founded smart-BRABUS GmbH, which has been the official factory tuner for smart cars ever since. Other milestones in the BRABUS history are the division BRABUS Classic, specializing in perfect restorations, servicing, buying and selling of vintage Mercedes-Benz cars, as well as the BRABUS subsidiary Startech, with a customization program for Jaguar, Land Rover, Range Rover and Bentley.

Apart from various showrooms, the five factories in Brabus-Allee with 150,000 square meters of factory space, house the sales and marketing department, the administrative offices, product engineering and manufacturing departments as well as a test track, which features acceleration and braking tracks, sine curves, a skid pad, a certifies noise-measuring track and a shake track with Belgian-block cobblestone to test the cars.

BRABUS still is at the forefront of automotive development.Wheather manufacturing performance parts for carmakers, engineering top-of-the-line smart cars or designing individual automotive interiors: BRABUS customers can be sure to receive Made in Germany engineering and individual design tailored to each customer request.
